On Feb. 24, 2019 the 91st Academy Awards show will be live on ABC, but it will be lacking a crucial element to the show, a host.

Kevin Hart was originally selected to be the host for the Oscar’s, but has recently turned the job down. Hart has recently had controversial tweets that have resurfaced from years ago that have caused some concern on whether or not he should be a host. Due to this controversy, Kevin Hart decided to turn down the role as host so that his presence would not distract from the show itself. This will be the first time in 30 years that the Oscar’s has not had a host.

Oscar chatter has also accumulated around the nominations for Best Picture, one of the most prestigious categories of the show. The biggest nomination is Black Panther, which is the first superhero movie to receive an Oscar nomination. Black Panther has won this category at the Golden Globes and the SAG Awards this year so far, so it’s anticipated that it will win for Best Picture at the Oscars.
