Tech students weigh in on Hokies’ quarterback competition

After starting quarterback Michael Brewer went down with a broken collarbone in the season opener against Ohio State, a quarterback competition between Brenden Motley and Dwayne Lawson began grabbing headlines.

Motley, a redshirt junior, provides experience and a solid grasp of the playbook as well as a strong arm. On the other hand, freshman Dwayne Lawson has already been tagged as the “quarterback of the future” after the Hokies managed to sign him as a highly ranked recruit out of high school.

With plenty of mixed opinions on who should get the nod as starting quarterback for the Hokies for the rest of the season, we set up in Squires Student Center to gauge how the Virginia Tech community feels about the matter.
